Position Title: Trader

Overview of Responsibilities

The Trading Operations Associate will be responsible for supporting live trading activities across multiple asset classes, including derivatives, equities (US and EU shares, ETFs), fixed income, FX, money market instruments, repo and others (upon requirement). This is a front-line operational role requiring real-time awareness of market activity and trading infrastructure.

Working Hours

  • Shift 1: 09:00 AM – 18:00 PM (first half of the month)
  • Shift 2: 15:00 PM – 23:00 PM (second half of the month)
  • Shifts alternate monthly.
  • The employee is expected to be fully alert and operational during their assigned hours, with an understanding of market conditions relevant to their shift, including major news (e.g., US or EU market open/close, economic announcements, etc.).

Core Duties on a Daily Basis

1. Trade Execution & Support

  • Execute client orders accurately across various asset classes: listed options, equities, FX, fixed income, futures (primarily E-mini S&P 500 F&O).
  • Open and manage positions based on verbal or written instructions (e.g., via chat).
  • Understand and apply common option strategies (e.g., bull/bear spreads, butterfly, iron condor) using platforms such as CQG.
  • Execution of trades upon request across various other trading platforms, such as vTrader, Bloomberg and other.

2. Platform Monitoring & Risk Awareness

  • Monitor client exposures, working orders, and position construction throughout the trading day.
  • Understand and interpret platform data (CQG and other), and be familiar with the key components of the software relevant to execution and monitoring.
  • Maintain awareness of net risk, PnL exposure, and potential vulnerabilities from unhedged positions, and act to hedge them when necessary.
  • Set risk limits (in coordination with senior staff).

3. End-of-Day Responsibilities

  • Verify that all open positions are hedged or closed where required.
  • Monitor the options assignment process and hedge risks related to unhedged positions.
  • Flag and escalate any discrepancies or risk issues to senior staff immediately.
  • Assist with reconciliation and ensure handover notes are clearly prepared for the following shift.

4. Communication & Coordination

  • Escalate trade exceptions, settlement issues, and trade rejections to senior staff.
  • Provide trade and financial instrument related information to Back Office and other relevant departments

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or any other relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role at a financial institution.
  • CySEC Certificate (Advanced).
  • Good knowledge and experience in using different trading platforms such as CQG, Bloomberg. Knowledge of other trading platforms will be considered a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Russian languages – both verbal and written.
